5 Reasons to enter the Takealot.com Cape Town Tens

Cape Town Tens

What happens when you combine an incredible venue, incredible entertainment and incredible sport together on an action packed weekend? You produce the Takealot.com Cape Town Tens, a highlight on the sporting and social calendar in the Western Cape. The Takealot.com Cape Town Tens was founded in 2008 and has now evolved in its eight year to include netball and volleyball as well. And if you know the event, you will not need much selling to join in. But if you don’t, here are 5 reasons to enter the Takealot.com Cape Town Tens.

The Sport

All Things Jabu is a sports blog after all and we will always talk about sport first. Many of us will be dreaming about playing on the global stage, especially in a period of Rugby World Cup. The Takealot.com Cape Town Tens may not afford you the world stage, but it gives you the opportunity to roll back the years and reminisce about that try you scored against Grey Bloem, or that last-ditch tackle you made against Rondebosch. The Takealot.com Cape Town Tens will not just give you a chance to show how you would have made it big if you hadn’t focused on studies, but also the battle scars to brag about for days to come (Just ask Derek Alberts about his nose!)

Cape Town Tens (1)The Stars

The opportunity to rub shoulders, or have a beer with the likes of Jonah Lomu, Christian Cullen, Justin Kemp, Graeme Smith and even Siv Ngesi, would be something that childhood dreams are made of. The reality is that these gents enjoy the party as much as most and now that they are not in the peak of the sports careers are more full of gees than ever. Expect some outstanding big names joining in again this year as the Takealot.com Cape Town Tens takes sporting party to a whole new level.

The New website

Cape Town Tens (2)This year the Takealot.com Cape Town Tens team have put together a tantalising new website that will allow you to get the upper hand on the virtual field before you even step onto a blade of grass. There will be opportunity for banter from players and spectators as well as some sign-up incentives. Lets face it, we could all do with an alternative to the comments section on News 24.

The Venue

It’s at Hamiltons Rugby Club, the home of the Festival of Beer. It’s in the shadows of Table Mountain and its in South Africa’s most tourist friendly place Cape Town. And by then Uber will be sorted. Not much more is needed to be said here then.

The Party

The gathering may be caused by sport, but the true celebration of sport is in the socialising afterwards. Retelling epic tales of the grinding result, the rolling maul and the yellow card. Debating at length each call by a referee all while enjoying a world-class South African beer. Still not enough? Throw in jacuzzi zones, international and local artists and a party you will be talking about for another 20 years, if you can just remember where you left your keys!
