BMW South Africa, the official vehicle partner to the Springboks, has created an interactive area called The BMW Challenge, where fans attending the game between the Springboks and Argentina this Saturday at the FNB Stadium will get to test their performance against their favourite rugby players.  The BMW Challenge will also be availabe for fans when the Springboks take on the All Blacks on 5 October 2013 at Coca-Cola Park.

The experiential structure, which will host various BMW performance vehicles,  will provide fans with a close-up view of the physical attributes of power, dynamism and agility which we have come to witness and enjoy from our rugby players – attributes that are synonymous with BMW.

“The BMW Challenge is a unique opportunity for rugby fans to experience first-hand Ultimate Performance in Every Move,  a characteristic inherent in every Springbok rugby team and in every BMW,” says Guy Kilfoil, General Manager: Group Communications & Public Affairs at BMW South Africa.

Fans will not only be able to race players like JJ Engelbrecht, Jan Serfontein, Pierre Spies, Jean de Villiers, Schalk Burger, Gio Aplon and Juan de Jongh over a 12m “pick and go” in real time on a life-size LED wall, but they can also test their scrumming power against the best in the Bok pack.

Through RFID technology, fans will also be able to interact with their networks on Facebook and Twitter – to brag about their Ultimate Performance against the Springboks, using the hashtag #BMWChallenge.

The BMW Challenge will be open to the public from 09:30 until 23:00 on Saturday 17 August at the FNB Stadium and the likes of BMW‘s Springbok Rugby Ambassadors Pierre Spies, Francois Steyn and rugby legend Victor Matfield will be roaming the area during the day, partaking in all the hype and interacting with fans.

“BMW South Africa is thrilled to bring interactive sporting entertainment to South African rugby fans. The characteristics of Springbok rugby – in particular agility, power, precision, speed, and performance – are values with which the BMW brand identifies perfectly and which rugby and BMW fans alike can get to revel in at The BMW Challenge,” concludes Kilfoil.
