July was a great month for the Blade Runner. He has quite comfortably been the quickest man on blades for a while now and after horrendous amount of time, finally managed to get the International Sports Courts to allow him to run in able bodied races. It was with this in mind that he started on his goal towards running in the Olympics. He fell painfully short time and time again.
On the 19 July 2011, that would change. In Lignano, Italy Oscar ran a brilliant 45.07 in the 400m to qualify for the Olympics and World Championships, finishing inside the target of 45.25. He must run under this time once more in order to be selected for the South African London Olympics team, but for the man who has no limits, the journey is just starting.
Congratulations to Oscar and thank you for flying the flag so proudly!
