Sport Against Xenophobia

XenophobiaNelson Mandela said that sport has the ability to unite a nation and right now we are a nation that needs uniting. In the recent spate of Xenophobia, South Africans (with different nationalities) have had their livelihoods threatened. As a massive football fan, some of my favourite footballers over the years for Kaizer Chiefs, our local giants, have been foreign nationals like Collins Mbesuma, Tinashe Nengomasha and Knowledge Musona. I, like many other South Africans, do not see foreigners as guests, but rather as family and think that sport is the one thing that can truly unite again. With that in mind, the Laureus Foundation has called on the sporting fraternity to unite against Xenophobia and fans can do the same by sharing and posting their own images on all social media platforms using #SportAgainstXenophobia @LaureusSport.

Here are some of the SA Sports people who have already thrown their public support to the #SportAgainstXenophobia campaign.
